Joel S. Tieder, MD, MPH
Professor Director, Maintenance of Certification, Seattle Children's
Dr. Tieder is interested in improving the delivery of quality care for hospitalized children, particularly through overcoming healthcare disparities and using evidence-based and family-centered care. He is the Director for Seattle Children’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and co-leads the Generate and Teach Health Equity Routinely (GATHER) project. He chaired the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and the AAP Subcommittee on Brief Resolved Unexplained Events (BRUEs). He has led numerous multicentered research studies, including a large research and quality improvement collaborative aimed at improving the outcomes of infants who have experienced a BRUE.
